Library Needs Assessment Study Results
The Whitecourt & District Public LIbrary recently completed a needs assessment / feasibility study of its current facility and operations.
The purpose of the study was to address three areas of local concern regarding public libraries:

The effect of the Internet and emerging technologies on the future existence of public libraries;

A comparative analysis ot the facility, staffing levels, services and resources of the Whitecourt & District Public Library to other public libraries serving populations of comparable size in the Yellowhead Region of Alberta;

An introduction to the services, resources, and facilities of modern public libraries.
The contract for the Library Needs Assessment / Feasibility Study was granted to the architectural firm Group 2 based out of Red Deer, Alberta in December, 2011.
The study began in January, 2012 and concluded with presentations and final reports in June, 2012.
